In my experience of visiting their extensive network in UP and Bihar, what struck me about the Dalit Foundation is that they support only the most genuine, passionate and determined grassroots activists. Through their grants they enable these activists to focus on the fight against caste oppression, and thus play a unique and critical role in the development of Indian society.
